Been to Phoenix to visit family, barely survived.

We were staying in a rented house one spring there. 80F at night. Even with the fan you get little relief.

I wish I could say my new neighbors weren't shooting off masses of illegal fireworks until well after midnight, resulting in the ghetto bird circling until after 1AM and Charlotte being so terrified she was trying to dig under our bed.

They seemed fairly decent folk, too.

It was pouring rain all evening here... but still somehow the new downtown fireworks were going off until 10:45. It's not actually that far away from here so the booming was fairly intense... my mom asked "Are we sure that's not bombs?" and the farm animals weren't settling. I could hear the warmblood mare kicking in her stall and the chickens squawking off and on.

How can they launch fireworks in rain like that?!
When I was a kid and we would go down to the beach for displays they would cancel at the barest sprinkle.

I wish I could say my neighbors didn’t set their field on fire last night shooting off their illegal fireworks. Thankfully it was small, and the fire department put it out within minutes. Still too close for comfort though.

Police won't do anything?

Here the police literally didn't respond when we called them because someone was pounding on the garage. Several other people called too. Cops showed up hours later.

Some states or towns they’re illegal. Here there is a total ban. So even sparklers and snappies are technically illegal LOL
