Is a red face one of the indicators of a soon to be laying hen? My EE are now 22 weeks and no eggs yet. Also, I noticed her comb has grown. Is this kind called a pea comb?

Yes, a red face is a sign that laying imminent. However, the days are getting shorter (unless you're in the southern hemisphere), and length of daylight is what triggers the hormonal change that makes pullets lay.

That said, I've had pullets that started laying in November. But one didn't lay until January, after the solstice.

Oh, :welcome
