Laying or not

I have a pullet which is 6 months
old and her comb and wattles are
red and larger and I checked her
pelvic bone my 2 fingers fits fine
but she didnt lay eggs yet and she
stays free range all day if she lays
egg somewhere secret how will i
know the egg is there will she squat until she deliverd the egg and how much time does it take to lay an egg

Hens can be very, very sneaky when they hide their eggs. They'll lay the egg, get off the nest and walk away some distance before singing the egg song. Mine does that sometimes and we've searched high and low in the area, but found nothing. The actual egg laying part takes a few seconds, but hens can spent awhile on the next pre- and post laying.

Confine her to the coop for a few days and see if she's laying.
