Laying Pattern disturbed by Cold Snap?

:gig:gig:gig
So there wasn't a slow down after all!?

Put a bucket or something where they were laying.

No slow down at all, just an inexperienced keeper.

I re-arranged the back corner & nest setup and found 3 more eggs. I finally installed the nest heat bar and moved the straw that had been piled in the back "hidden" corner to the nest box proper, thanks will add a bucket or something and see how it goes, that corner is NOT convenient!

When I went to finish up nest heater install there were two more eggs laid this afternoon AND IN THE NEST!

Nest heater with glimpse of cord buried under straw; there is a board cover (shown standing vertical in front 2nd pic) that goes over the pipes.

What is the temperature where you live? I only use a warmer for the water when it freezes. And put a layer of straw in the nest boxes.

The average temperature in winter is -10 to -15C (14 to 5F) with occasional at -30C or more for a few days at a time. Water is already freezing most nights and I have had one frozen egg (I collect multiple times per day from 8am through around 11am).

I have just put straw in the nest boxes, did make a positive difference.
