Based on the ad, you should be about 50-50. Its whatever is in there when they clean out the brooders. If it was left over in the hatchery, you would get mostly males because they are not as wanted as females. Depends on how honest they are too. I don't understand how they can have availability dates when its supposed to just be late hatches. How do they know they will have 25 late hatchers in that time period?

If it says "sexed" you will get whatever gender the ad says. If it says "straight run", you'll get a mix of genders. If it doesn't say, you'll get leftover males, except BBW turkeys and Cornish Cross, where people want the males, so it is females leftover.

if it were spring this is something I might do.

my guess about why they have available hatch dates is they know there will always be some, and they don't get a ton of orders for this. if they don't have that many on your chosen date, they can slip it back a week.

I've bought from these folks in the past, had good luck with the chicks. interested to hear what you get...
