so the duck in your hand is the same one in top pics? I guess seeing it in better light threw me off. They sure are cute too. Hopefully lil Tawny will be happy to get a friend today.

My ducks just about empty their buckets out from head dunking but I have had a few get bubbles in their eyes from not washing enough. My old drake is one of them.

Tawney and yellow duck are snuggled up happily. I haven't checked last egg yet.

I also don't think Varia is clearing her nares - she was starting to wheeze a bit before the face wash yesterday.

Little stinker, wonder what her problem is? Sounds like a teenager going through rebellion. Keep a close watch on her something else may be going on.

I will probably keep them, but I will need to do some flock shuffling because I kinda want to keep everyone.... Little tawny duck is very protective of his little bud!

I don't hatch because I'd have hundreds now it is very hard for me to give any up.. Post more pis when you get time.

She's looking much better, and last night the little last egg was having a shake. Another bad heatwave today, going to have to be vigilant.

Its hard for me to let them go too, but the reality is when we move out of Sydney we will need sources of income and I am very good at raising ducks, so, if I am to afford my little calls I will have to breed some larger ones to sell. I make absolutely certain that if any of my animals do go for meat, they are treated with respect and killed humanely.
