Sheesh thanks! I'm very proud of them. Goldie might even show next year. Havnt got the electric fence up yet but I only need a little time to set it up. No sign of the fox around but I'm still paranoid.

They don't call them Sly Foxes for no reason. Don't let your guard down.

I have at least one external pip in the Bator. Holding my breath for the tiny egg now.

Okay, this morning in Bator I have one duckling. It looks like second to pip. First to pip is still in the egg, hole looks no bigger than yesterday morning, that's a whole 24 hrs since pip.

Tiny egg looks like nothing going on. Fingers crossed

Tiny egg has died. There was veins and movement yesterday morning but now no veins and murky soup. I'm amazed how fast it happens.

First pip dead as well. Never had this happen before. Little beak poking out but dead as a doornail.

One very lonely duck cuddling three remaining eggs. I can hear a far off peeping so I think someone else has internal pipped.

On the plus side Varia is having a bit more of a waddle each day

Aw thanks needed it. I tell you its a nail in the coffin for not assisting - usually I'm in and out checking and all are fine. This time I leave them be and hit my highest ever mortality rate

Only 2 eggs left now, one very lonely duckling moved to Bator. Varia can almost get around now, she's so brave
