Is stealthy chickening a terrible idea?

So I talked to the president of the hoa and he has no problem with it but wants to chat with the neighbors. I talked to one of the other neighbors and she actually wants some too. 2 houses down plus ours obviously 8 to go.

Now that is pretty fantastic... I don't know if it's just majority rules to get the ordinance changed, but I hope you can get more neighbors to support you. If there's a few holdouts I think if you try addressing their fears you may be able to sway some of them to your side. Best of luck!!

Whew! Tough one. I live just outside of city limits where the city has allowed up to 6 hens per owner inside the city. Silly me assumed that outside the city would be far more lenient...nope. County specifies that you need a permit for any birds...you can't have a pet duck without a permit. I panicked...but eventually called the county and was informed that the zoning where I live exempted me from the county permits and falls back to the neighborhood covenants. Fortunately, they don't specify anything about chickens and I lucked out. I'm afraid your stuck, but I would definitely look for a loophole somewhere in the covenants, ordinances, zoning, etc.
