Leghorn pullet close to laying?

Some of mine had a bit of a flop going on .. some didn't. She really does look close. Looking at body..filled out pretty good now. They usually ..are..early to start. One of my favorite breeds because most of mine were the friendliest .. follow you around begging for treats. Watch where you step, I had to, always right there under foot. Sit down, right there. Begging at the door. View attachment 1854702 Love them. This girls comb is bigger, not floppy yet, but she was laying. Every day.
Ok, thank you for the information! She seems kind of small to me still, but I know they tend to be the smaller, more athletic breed. She is very sweet and friendly, she always comes right up to me and follows me around, but doesn’t want to be pet or held.

Love your picture btw, they are so adorable how they beg for treats!

Not all Leghorns are white. I ordered 5 Brown Leghorns this spring. They are dark, which I expect will keep them safe fom coyotes, but they are still supposed to give a white egg. Can't wait! If hybridized or mixed, who knows what colors you might get after a gen or two!

Hello, I have had chickens as a kid, but this is my first flock of chickens in 18 years, so I’m new to this in a way. Lol anyways I have a 15 week old leghorn pullet and I’m wondering what you guys think as far as maturity and egg laying. I’m thinking probably 4-5 weeks I should see an egg? I will be opening the nesting boxes this weekend once they hit the 16 week mark. What do you guys think?
