Leghorn Thread!!!

Pics
2017 Tail male. This is my backup male. I kept him because , he possesses the feather width I have been looking for. And yes, I did use him for breeding.

Maybe we can get this wonderful thread going again. I drool everytime I see your birds, @The Moonshiner. I would LOVE to have more colors of leghorns. I've never been much of a fan of just plain white in a bird, beautiful though they are. @cookfamilyfarm, you have some gorgeous birds too! New eye candy for me :) I have just a few SC Light Browns that I am working with. One hen is mottled. Will be a long project if I don't find some good stock to bring in to help. All the same, I love them.

I love Leghorn I slowly learn to love them I've had chickens for 25 years and always stayed away from them because I loved brown eggs as I got like Oren's I was like they're all the same as long as they are home raised little by little I started Loving like worms I love their sleek little figure and everyone that I have kind has been sweet and now I only have leghorns

I think their build is beautiful. Like a racehorse.
Or (hate to say it cause they eat chickens) A bald Eagle.

Ha yes bald eagle racehorse hybrid.. lol... It's their streamlined body , it's what most ppl see in their head when you think of a chicken, unless your like us we see Easter eggers, barred rocks, speckled Sussex, Delaware's lol... My nephew who's 2 draws a chicken with white crayon outlined and red waddles ...it's even in cartoons not just Foghorn Leghorn lol... And they're a quiet bunch of girls when they're hanging out, my barred rocks you could hear from 3 acres away through my window just talking and stuff

My new Leghorn Project, Going to make Columbian Leghorns after a few generations. Also I have some production quality leghorns I will tinker with too if you consider Production Blacks (California Grey) to be leghorns

The Red Leghorns are supposed to be pure red but a few have some Columbia pattern to them. The imperfection works to my advantage with what I want to do with them.

The Silver Leghorns turned our fairly nice for hatchery quality.

I also have production quality leghorns, I also have Production Black hens. When I want a large flock of egg layers I will start hatching out eggs from this flock.
