Leghorn Thread!!!

Hi. I bought Leghorn eggs to hatch and they are at day 13 today. It hasn't been very successful hatch so far, as I started with 14 eggs, then some were not fertile, one exploded today and now I have 7 in the incubator.
After I bought the eggs, they told me they are not pure Leghorns as the rooster is not Leghorn but just a beautiful white mutt, which they have kept. I don't mind, I just wonder what will happen. This is my third chicken hatching, but first time Leghorns.

This is my pepper, my favorite chicken in the whole wide world (for now). Brown leghorns are the best!!

my non white leghorns lay a much smaller egg, take longer from Hatch to Point of lay and lay less often. They still lay well compared to most other breeds though.

My Red Leghorns just started laying so soon I will be mixing them with Silver leghorns and in a few generations I should start getting Columbian Leghorns.

After getting a couple more varieties of Leghorns I have to say I certainly prefer the white leghorns. The silver look so much nicer but their eggs are about the size of a Bantam Leghorns egg. As far as getting eggs nothing beats a white leghorn not only do they have decent sized eggs every day they eat very little and take so little time reaching the age where they lay.

I have a pip this morning on the white 1/2 Leghorn egg. I hope to have my first 1/2 Leghorn chicken. Now, how and when do you sex the white Leghorns? Are they wing sexable? I am not a professional to do a vent sexing but I need to sex them (hopefully all 3 white 1/2 Leghorn eggs will hatch) as early as possible as I am giving away the females.
They are 1/2 white Leghorns as the mothers are pure Leghorns but the rooster is not.
