Lemon blue rooster?

It's been 8 months and I still can't figure out what colour he is.

I have a bunch of babies I hatched which have a mix of white,yellow and blue colours on them, the rest are pure blues, since the mum's a blue. When people ask me what colour are they I have no idea what to say .

He's the one in the middle.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me solve this mystery .

That's just a splash Cochin.

The yellowishness you are seeing is what would be red in roosters.

Blue cross to Blue will give you 50% blue offspring, 25% splash, and 25% black... in theory. The percentages don't always come to those exact numbers... but it is a good basic formula.

Agreed, he's splash. He's kind of brassy which can be due to sunlight or a diet high in corn.

Idk what he is exactly but I don't agree he is just a splash and also don't agree that is from the sun nor a high corn diet.
That's some kind of color leakage or a pattern with silver/gold imo.

This chart is so helpful, thank you. I actually have black chicks too. But I thought maybe they're from the other bichen rooster. Sometimes In a batch I get blue, white and black or I get only blues and blacks.

Is it possible to get black chicks from a splash?

It was cloudy when I took the first few pictures, he looks the same indoors too. But yes they do get a good amount of corn .

It isn't that sun in the photo made him look that way. It's being out in the sun that does it. Like he lives outdoors and not indoors. That's why a lot of breeders that show keep birds that are prone to brassiness indoors and on no corn diets to help keep them the correct color.

Is it possible to get black chicks from a splash?

Not it isn't.
Splash can 9only produce blue when bred with black.
Only splash when bred with splash.
Only blue or splash when bred with blue.
If he is producing any birds with black he isn't a splash.
