How is she?
She's doing pretty well! She LOVES people and other dogs so much, which might make service dog training a little tricky, so that's something I'm working on with her. She has some good training now though, as far as manners, but she's obviously still a puppy.

This morning though she went in to heat... :th

I didn't realize it'd be so soon, but she's 10.5 months now so I guess it makes sense. Any tips? We just ordered some diapers for her.

She's beautiful! Keep training for handler focus, especially at that age it can get discouraging but it will pay off. Wow I'm surprised she's in heat already! I ordered reusable diapers for mine and they seem to stay on better then disposable. Mine hasn't went into heat yet so I can't really speak from experience

Aww! She has gotten so big!

For heats diapers are amazing, her first heat will last long and just because she is done bleeding she isnt out of heat. They actually are in heat a few days before bleeding and a few weeks after they are still in heat. Thats just about the right age for goldens. Denver went into heat at around 10 months. She will generally loose her focus but regain it towards the end of heat. Just keeping any male dogs away is the biggest thing.

She is so big now!

she might become uninterested in working and harder to motivate for things she doesn't really want to do. For Fanta this lasted almost a month after the bleeding stopped! She is currently in season again and said no to working a few days before it started (she still enjoys training sessions)

some dogs are still happy to work but if you are suddenly struggling more with training it's probably her season

Alright, thanks guys! She definitely has been a lot more excitable, then also tired, and distracted, so it's encouraging to know that it's probably because of her heat and nothing I'm doing wrong.

How is everyone else's dogs doing? Pictures?

Denver and Tucker are doing well. Tucker's reactivity has gotten better. He isnt reacting to certain dogs barking. He may bark once at people on walks but other than that he stops on command or lure. Denver is just finishing her heat(being grumpy and a potatoe as always😅).
