Congrats....glad they made it safely. Enjoy them this week. I sware my have tripled in size these past 9 days...and make 5x the mess!!

I know I went thru it all last year with my Metzer ducks and for the past 4 months Ive hatched out ducklings and not sold them untill about 3 weeks old at the oldest. Poop and mess everywhere, but at least the weather is getting nicer and In a week or so they will be going to live outside in the duck house.

they are precious Go, and they look so healthy, it amazes me they can travel so far and look so good.

Im practicing sexing ducklings. In the pencils I have 3 drakes 1 girl. Going to do it again tomorrow to see if im right and then i will do the whites and mark them in some way so I can see what I have. I got my fingers crossed Ive got 5 females or more in the white coz I want to keep 3 whites and a white drake and the 1 penciled girl and 1 drake so ill practice and get back to you...thats if you still want a few females. If you do then I dont want you to miss out on them growing up and bonding with them.

Nadine, when you get your Golden Cascades will you post some pictures of them so I can see please. I have a GC Hen sitting on eggs (due approx. 5/1) & a GC Drake, well I thought I did anyways. My son (who started the duck thing by having too much time on his hands, bringing animals home for others to feed & take care of) well anyways now he informs me that the Drake is Not GC its a Runner duck. This duck looks exactly like the GC Hen, but his beak is yellow-ish. Thanks, ~Julie~

Go, what the difference in fawn and white and penciled? I really had my heart set on F/W. thats so cool that you can sex them I tired it with my goose, and wanted a goose so bad had myself convinced it was but not to be he is a gander, and cantankerous one at that.

I dont know about anyone else but I find sexing hard to do. Im just scared that Ill hurt them when ive got hold of them upside down and then scared im hurting them when you go delving round their privates and they start squirming. I sexed a few whites...all looked the same to me so went back and sexed the coloured ones, darn they all look the same too..., so I have no idea what I have and will find out in 4 weeks or so when they start to find their voices.
Oh and I found out if you give goslings a whole lettuce leaf they all fight like rabid dogs and tear it apart and run off to hide in a corner with their own hunk of it.

Nicky... You sure are brave having all them babies at once. lol OMG....Nobody told me about the part where these little critters p00p like there's no tomorrow. And I'm so sure, where the heck did my LiTtLe "Lucky Ducky" go? }}}They grow Way TOOOO Fast, & already 6 weeks old.

Your babies are soooo cute you can really see that they are Runners. I think its cute, when they look like there walking instead of waddling. }}
