Let chickens be chickens

Oh yeah... Like I said, my yard gets VERY quiet when they see me move it.. I also have ducks. They're catching on tho. They stand VERY still until they see me adjusting it. My roosters crowed like crazy when I first got him

I had a hawk dive down in my yard one day... My big RIR rooster spun those legs as fast as he could to my open shed while my BO roo got all the ladies to safty... After all was over, my RIR roo strutted out of the shed as if he was the BOMB diggity (he's pretty fly for a RIR) I laugged so hard!!
I bought a plastic owl from Walmart and haven't seen anything overhead since. I also "strategicly" move my owl around. Every time I move him my yard gets VERY quiet for a few minutes lol
i like this i will certainly keep this strategy in mind.

Is the owl supposed to keep the hawk away? I have owls at my house, too. They take turn with the hawks. Hawks hunt during the day while the owl hunts during the night. I hear our owls calling during the winter and spring. They probably call during the summer but I can't hear them over the numerous insects and frogs. I even have a Cooper's hawk who thinks nothing of swooping in the barn and snatching a bird off the rafters. Cheeky thing.

I hear an owl at night when I go out to check on my critters. I'm GUESSING that an owl will eat a hawk if it's smaller. I had a red tail go to a bush where my chickens went to hide. I had no idea he was there until I started shaking limbs and he flew out
