hello all - I'm Susan from Monroe, MI which is located halfway between Detroit and Toledo, Ohio. I have recently caught the chicken fever and love searching BYC for ideas and information.
I am in the process of designing my outdoor run (currently using chain link dog kennels) and adding to my flock. I currently have a heritage turkey, 1 rooster (part Russian Orlov), 1 mixed hen (can't remember what she's got in her), and 2 Barnvelders - I love their looks, friendly personality and large brown eggs. I will be getting a few cochin later this week.
All my feathered friends are very friendly and I love watching them go about their activities when I let them out to free range for a few hours a day.
I also have a Rottweiler, 3 Papillons, a bunny, 2 Parrots (African Grey and Double Yellow Head Amazon) and a Quarter Horse. I sometimes think I'm the crazy lady with all the animals......but I am who I am.
