As you guys may know I got two pairs of Serbian Highflyers and a pair of Birmingham rollers a few weeks ago and yesterday I let them out for the first time.

As all new birds I get, they are very energetic and fly around many times. I was worried that Pebbles one of the Birmingham rollers was going to get lost as every time it took off it kept going further away whilst its mate was on the loft roof. I had all my pigeons out so they would be able to find the loft, my birds just hung around the loft most of the day :(.

In the end of the day most the new birds except for 1 went back on the loft. I caught the 1 bird that stayed out then put her back in. Tomorrow I may let them out again and just them as I don't want my other birds to teach them to be lazy.

My father in law is huge into pigeons forany years, he mentorede as I am fairly new, he says if a pigeon doesn't come in when it's eating time then leave it out, it'll be in tomorrow when you let all the birds in, this let's the birds know you are the boss, some pigeons will play mind games and always stay out cause they know no matter what it'll get fed but if it knows it won't get fed unless it comes in then it won't just stay out and miss the opportunity to eat

My lot were released from the coop yesterday. Only the 'boss' pigeon when back in. The others are still not interested in going back in after a night roosting on our air conditioning fans.

No food for them today.. and see if they are hungry this evening. They don't seem interested in flying away this time... as they are lazing about sunbathing on the house roof. They can be really naughty at times!!!!

One of mine younsters is being a pain not coming in with the others. So I left it. It did come in eventually. I can't be messing around with it as I have three sets of birds I need to fly separately. Hopefully it will learn but unless it comes in through the bobs it ain't coming in!
