Lethargic Duck Keeps Sleeping and is Unresponsive

There is no other place I would rather go.
Just got back and did forget to log off, but the ducklings seem to be doing a bit better. Their bills are not as hot as yesterday and they are grooming so I would say that they are better.
I let her know about the apple cider vinegar and the charcoal and if they worsen tomorrow we will get some antibiotics in them.

And all the feets of the ducklings are wonderful!

No more burns to cause them so much pain.
I just wanted to say how blessed I am to read all that has been going on with the ducklings you all rescued, I'd say just in the nick of time too. Glad to hear they are all doing well and their little feet have healed too.

When using flushes whether it's the acti charcoal or any of the others it's very important the directions be carried out because they can cause other problems if used too long or not according to directions. here is the link to the flushes.

Please please help me.... this is urgent!
I just let out the ducks.. they are all fine..and I got the rubber net (not corded) to catch my drake that is always
running after my limping females and when I put him in the special pen.. he started acting like he is totally drunk!
He wobbles so badly that he is falling on his side and back! He was fine 2 minutes before. I am perplexed.

Please help. I will take pics of him now...

Sounds like botulism - go to the stickies list for the recipes for a flush and charcoal slurry. The first is to get him to pass whatever he ate, the slurry to absorb toxins still in him.

What the heck? He is fine now.... lolol ok so he was acting drunk? He is just fine all of a sudden.

I must wonder if I could have somehow pinched a nerve or something in his neck.
Could that be it?

I am watching him very very closely to see if he will have another episode.

And wouldn't botulism affect all the decks that are together all the time and eat the same things in the same places?

Yes if they all ate the same thing that caused it.

Maybe just the stress of catching him caused it. Glad to see he is okay now.

Stress can cause that kind of reaction? Wow I had no idea. I was so worried...woke up my son on his only day off work this week to
show him what was going on and it is early here. :) He was also quite worried since it is his appleyard drake.

We put the limping females in the special pen to give their feets a chance to strengthen and that drunken duck is just fine. Just as he always
was.

Thank you so much for the quick response.. Amiga et Miss Lydia along with so many others are what keeps this forum so wonderfully informed.
Thank you for everything you do.

Just awesome!

Update! Sammy has a vet appointment on Thursday. I wish it could be earlier :/ He seems to be doing a lot better since he started getting ACV on Saturday. Still seems a little sleepy, so we'll see what the vet says. Thank you so much for the help! You guys are the best!
