Lethargic hen, open mouth breathing, her whole body moves when she breaths

My little girl was one year old. Could you tell me a little more about Willow? I think of my hen Willie whenever I say her name. Willow is so happy in heaven, where she isn’t sick, so don’t worry about her!
Willow was my heaviest chicken but she was so calm and sweet! She was so gentle and let my teeny tiny silkie hen boss her around which was so funny to watch because Willow was so much bigger. She was very calm and I even harness trained her! Sometimes when I would sit in a chair I have in the chicken coop she would come up from behind and give me little pecks begging for food! Her best friend’s were her EE sister’s who I got at the same time and place and they were so sweet to each other. She will be missed but she’s in a better place! I’m so sorry about your chickens they sound amazing! Losing chickens is so hard and unless people have chickens many of them don’t understand how great of pets they are and how special they are.

Willow sounds like Tiny, super sweet, and let’s the smallest little hens boss her around! How do you harness train a chicken? I have a harness, I just don’t want them to freak out!

I feel so bad for you. I know how much it hurts to loose a special little hen. :hugsI know that it will get better with time. Liz passed not even a month ago, and I feel a little better about it. Don’t worry, and don’t blame yourself.

I honestly think it’s very hard to train a hen I think you have to start when they are young pullets I have one leghorn hen who I started young and when I tried to start my EEs it was to late for all of them but Willow well was the calmest.
