    Good morning everyone,

Last night I saw one of my hens puffed up under the cedars near our house. She was awake but not moving around. Her wings were a little droopy. I picked her up and she didn't fuss too much, flapped her wings a little but that's it.

I looked it up online and one suggestion was impacted crop. So I checked but I've never felt a crop before. I found an area the size of a golf ball but could be a ball of grass. I compared it to the other hens and their crops were all full and large due to the gorging themselves before bed as they normally do.

I quarantined her last night just in case and I massaged her crop a little to see if it'll move but nothing happend. This morning she laid a shell-less egg. I'm assuming this is due to a vitamin deficiency from not eating perhaps?

I'm not sure what the difference is between an empty crop and an impacted crop and I'm not sure what else it could be. I don't think it's Marecks as she doesn't have any of the other symptoms. This morning she was awak and peaking out of her box to see what's up. She seems pretty alert, just not moving.

Any ideas? Maybe give vitamin drops? I'm new to this chicken doctor role.

    Thanks
