New chicken mama here! My nine-week-old Silkie is acting lethargic and keeping her left eye shut. She does open it sometimes and the eye itself looks fine. What should I do?

Update: I don’t know if this is related but I just saw a small worm on another chicken’s beak. One of the other chickens ate it. All of the chickens are pooping normally. I saw the lethargic one eat earlier today but haven’t seen her drink. She was fine yesterday. Please help!

What did the worm look like?
Any photos of her poop?

Try flushing her eye with saline, hopefully she just got some dirt or fuzz in the eye.

The lethargy is concerning, how long has she been on the ground outside?
Coccidiosis may be part of your problem as well.
I would first try getting her hydrated. Offer her some poultry vitamins if you have them, then see if she will eat some wet chick starter.
Make sure her crop is emptying overnight. If she doesn't perk up, then I would be inclined to treat with Corid for Coccidiosis.

Thank you for your help! The worm was skinny, about 1/4” long, pink/tan color. I’m attaching a photo of her poop. Last night was the chickens’ 3rd night sleeping outside in the coop. I’m going to make a run to Tractor Supply to get some vitamins now. She ate quite a bit of wet food from my hand but doesn’t seem to want to drink.

May have been some type of earthworm then.

I would try to get her drinking too. Hydration is more important than feed, but wet soupy food can help a little too.

Keep us posted on how she gets along.
