I would also think of fatty live hemorrhagic disease with bleeding of the liver. I once did a necropsy on a hen that had a large clot of blood and the liver was a bit tan. There was a lot of fat as well. I suspected fatty liver.

That’s what I would think, but it seems like the adipose deposits were very normal? She was really thin overall.

Haven’t gotten the histopathology report back just yet, but two of our girls tested positive for avian leukosis. The vet said she’s almost positive it was transferred vertically given the incubation period so at least it’s not my “fault”, but still so sad.
