Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Congrats, Angelak. Glad to see I'm not the only one hatching into the summer.

I have still got one goose setting on 15 eggs due june 17th she is just about half way through. The other goose im not sure she is still setting ive seen her off the nest two days in a row she was due a week later. When i see her off the nest the gander is always missing, maybe hes giving her a break. She only had 7 eggs under her.
Dixie got her honk she will be 6 wks old tomorrow. Shes just honking away today in the run, Mickey and Minnie cant get far enough away when she lets out a honk.

Angelak, in the goose forum, there is a sticky to a waterfowl hatching guide that Pete55 wrote. I highly recommend it!

Well.... I'm getting ready for another lockdown today. I have a dewlap egg with a white African egg.

I had an awful tragedy hit my place yesterday. While I was getting ready to bring my buff girl/grey boy inside after spending their first day in backyard pen, a magpie attacked. It gutted my buff girl within a mere 60 seconds and was already onto my grey boy by the time I got to pen and scared it off. The grey boy suffered a few puncture wounds to side of face/neck, but will be ok. However, my buff girl's injuries were too severe and I was unable to save her.

My next dewlap egg has internally pipped and should hatch out by Wednesday. I also have another half dozen or so eggs developing at different stages. But I bet all the ones that make it out of their shells will be boys, because obviously I'm not meant to have any buff babies this year.
