Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

I will be selling these goslings, it will be hard but have to do it. Thank you everyone I sure am proud of these little goslings......

Sarina I have been checking on to see if we have any hatched goslings from her nest? They are due this weekend if there were fertile ones.

Jen85 congrads on your first gosling...

Still waiting on 6 Embden eggs (due 3/26-3/28), but I started a dozen Sebbie/Tufted Roman eggs yesterday. We don't have any adult geese, so we're hatching eggs from others. These will be our very first goose eggs. Can't wait until we can place our own.

As a side note, has anyone's Welsh Harlequins started laying for the season? I got some the end of last year from a guy, he doesn't know how old they are, and I haven't gotten a single egg from them yet. They look to be full grown, as they haven't gotten bigger in the last few months. But no eggs yet.

I really can't tell you. The ones from last year looked like that at first too, but that fades after a couple weeks. You can see this in these goslings from last spring...the little ones have the dark pattern on their bills and on the older ones it is gone.
They're so pretty! I LOVE geese! I think it's so funny when I go to farms and geese hiss and charge at me. I'm not afraid of them, so I'll hiss back, and then walk away. They'll follow me and try to pinch me, so I'll hiss at them again. I just think it's hilarious that they try so hard to scare me away, when most of the time I'm not even near their nests.

Adorable!!!!!!!

All of the babies are sooooooooooooo cute !!!!!!!!!!!! :weee

I think I was able to finally candle on this weekend. Looks like out of the 11 goose eggs that in the incubator, only 4 are fertile. It's my first time incubating goose eggs and these are the 1st eggs of the year. I also have goose eggs under 3 ducks and 1 turkey. Maybe they can do better than I am. :)

well, i got 2 geese outta 5 shipped eggs..... one is a lemon yellow / white gosling (lighter than the goslings pictured above....and its solid), the other gosling is a gray / brown one.

hopefully all will be well and grow fast...LOL
