Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

I promised myself I would only buy another bator with money made from egg/baby sales. I've only made $23 so far, but I may be able to sell some eggs this weekend to make enough for another cheapo bator. In the meantime, I'll be tossing the duck eggs and anything that is not showing veining after 5 days this weekend to set eggs from my super prized pair of grey fatties mated to my buff boy. Both are laying strong now.

Iain I made the same promise to myself, I'm doing pretty good on sales and I'm almost at the point where I can buy one of the Hovabator Cabinet models. As long as I get a good hatch with the goose eggs and turkey eggs in my bator now I'm all over that new sportsman, I think I can do close to 300 chicken/turkey/ducks or 120 goose eggs at a time in it.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on my babies. Those are huge now, close to 18lbs+

I am going to start my other 'bator this evening or tomorrow so it will be ready for the next batch. I could use 2 or 3 more 'bators lol still need to hatch chicks and guinea keets.

I've got an egg pipped at the wrong end! And its a bit early. I am hoping this is nature's way of making sure the lil one can breath until it hatches. If so, it will be the first from my saddleback Seb pair Bumble and Lilli.

hey all,

my little grey goose didn't make it outta the shell. also the little yellow goose doesn't look too good either. it is in with 3 regular ducks which seems like they are much more active than the goose. the goose has what looks like a pasty butt.... any thoughts? I've given wassine (wormer) in their water.

Why are you worming? if your gosling has pasty butt ,take a awrm wash cloth or some thing soft and warm water and wash off it's bottom. if it can't poop it will die. what are the temps in your brooder? too high temps can cause pasty butt too. and what are you feeding them? sorry about your gosling.
