Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

I've got an egg pipped at the wrong end! And its a bit early. I am hoping this is nature's way of making sure the lil one can breath until it hatches. If so, it will be the first from my saddleback Seb pair Bumble and Lilli.

I've had very good luck with wrong way pippers, if they are able to make their own breathing hole.

Why are you worming? if your gosling has pasty butt ,take a awrm wash cloth or some thing soft and warm water and wash off it's bottom. if it can't poop it will die. what are the temps in your brooder? too high temps can cause pasty butt too. and what are you feeding them? sorry about your gosling.

X2!!!

Congrats they are precious.

X2!

You know I just realized - all 3 hatches so far have had at least 1 upside-down gosling. 1 of 5, 1 of 7, and at least 1 of 7 again. What am I doing wrong? I am incubating on their sides. They are all from different parents too.

I'll admit im addicted to geese. I was looking through adds in the paper near here and found someone selling a trio of adult american buffs for $75. Is that a good price for them? Im thinking of calling this person.

Probably depends on the age and the birds. Sounds like a good deal to me though!

That is a cheap price for a pair of Sebastopols, but it also depends on how nice they are in type. You would not get our sebastopols for that price for a pair.....
On the Americans go to Dave Holderreads waterfowl page and see what he sells adults for. That is a very good price for them.

Thanks. Im more interested in the buffs than the sebbies. I love sebbies but i live in a neighborhood of idiots who would look at those feathers and think neglect... I had the humane officer called on me over the neighbors thinking that my purebred turkens were abused. They thought i plucked them.

I have ANOTHER one! What is going on? Am I turning too much? Not enough? I turn 2-3 times per day....
