Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Don't know if this has been answered but...I had a real problem with upside-down pipping until I stopped turning a few days earlier than suggested. Most people say stop turning three days before hatch day...I stop at around five days prior (sometimes 6). This has made a HUGE difference for me. Hope that helps.

Candled all 22 of my eggs tonight, it's only day 7 but all of my 6 yr old Breeder eggs are fertile, my Juvi goose pair don't look to be doing very well, only a few of those look fertile, but it is early. All my silkie duck eggs are fertile. I need more bators to set more eggs so I ordered two more today for a total of 7...someone stop me before this gets out of hand...oh wait too late

Haha! I want another one. I always tell my husband he better be glad we don't have more land or I'd have soooo many animals. My sisters/ family think I'm crazy.
I'm waiting on two more goose eggs to hatch next week, 18 duck eggs in three weeks, and 2 orders of Sebastopol goose eggs on the way.... Lol.

Mine have only been in for 3 days. The waiting is killing me. Although i love hatching eggs in the 'bators. Next season i want to try ostrich eggs or emu. Ive always wanted a breeding trio of ostriches. Ive already got part of the property picked out for the pasture for them.

Love Sebbies, my family thinks I'm crazy too. :)

I've thought about emu, someone in the area is selling some emu chicks for "gulp" 100.00 each. A little steep, I sort of think Emus are ugly though, I've not seen anyone offering Ostrich eggs or I would try those. I guess one day I may get the Emu just for the sheer size of them. :)

I think emu eggs are beautiful, that green is so unique looking. I like trying new things and ive pretty much went down the list and raised all the "normal" pets and farm animals. Now i want to try something that not a lot people around here do. Either ostrich, emu or farming deer, but i like feathered friends so it would probably be ostrich.

I can see why people would want emus. I've met a few cool ones and the babies are adorable. Ostriches, on the other hand... aren't they extremely dangerous?

I have heard that they can completely gut you with one kick if cornered. My husband and mom have been tryin to talk me out of it. Its probably just stay a dream of mine but if i got the chance id still give it a try. Maybe ill just take baby steps toward it and try something like peacocks next lol i have chickens, guineas and geese so that might be the next thing lol or turkeys.

Thank you- going to try this with the next set. I only have one egg due next week, but in 2 weeks there are seven.

The first upside down one that is due tomorrow is almost zipped. The second just has a big hole on the underside of the pointy end so far. I hope its ok. At least I know it has air. 2 that did not make it last time had not pipped.
