Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Tonight is lockdown for my eggs. I candled last night and still only 4 fertile out of 11. I put wax on the 1 that I cracked. If only 1 egg hatches, I will be so happy. I'm hoping. :/ The 4 fertile eggs look good from what I can tell but this week will tell. There is a really small egg that is bigger than a duck egg but I don't think that it will hatch.

I re-counted the number of goose eggs that I have under all of the critters in the chicken yard and my total count is 29 goose eggs that are under anything that is broody in that yard out there. :gig . I hope nothing happens to them. :hit

29 wow, I'm thinking your going to have more goslings than you know what to do with.. I hope so anyway.. :fl

Yes, I'm hoping to have a gosling year like I had a scovy duckling year. Remember? :gig

We got 12.4 inches of snow and it was a record breaker snow for March. It is snowing again but it is a light snow. I could not go out and do the geese so believe it or not my husband went out and fed the geese plus took the snow off the top of the pens! It is snowing again but lightly.

Here are our Spring pictures. These are the geese pens.

Ruru, that's amazing! Beautiful pictures! Thick snow makes chores so hard. We've been lucky to have a nice spring, but winter reared its ugly head again this past weekend. I am so over getting snow.

It's very pretty but not what one would expect from Spring Pics

, My yard looks much the same.

Thank you J on the pictures. But sure does not look like March 25th, 2013 huh! What a mess it is going to be when this all melts... So next we will play mud pies.
Sure do hope the girls can keep their eggs warm enough out there while they are sitting. They ones that have went broody I guess will not lay anymore eggs if these turn out to get cold from this snow.

Depends on where you live.. :) Looks like a perfectly normal March 25th for me here in Colorado. We just got hit by 18 inches of snow this weekend, it'll probably be our last for the year because we don't tend to get any after spring break, but we're used to winter temps all the way through march and part way into april. I'm really not looking forward to the mud this snow will give us later today or tomorrow. Blech!

Ruru, not for your part of the country. It looks like you live in a ski resort town.

Dennarahl, same here in Utah, but luckily we only got about 8 inches at our place with last weekend's storm. The low temps the night after the storm clears out are the worst. It hit 5F last night. At least it's already 43F this afternoon (and still climbing), and the snow is melting fast.

One of the reasons my place is called "The Puddle Place"

Our temps ar hovering around 32* If yours are doing the same they should be good with mommas sitting on them Barb. My eggs haven't frozen but the girls are hiding them well.

I think we stopped at 7 inches this round. It's so wet and heavey that it is packing down quickly. Got a dusting over night but no addition accumulation. Glad hubby took care of the babies for you.
