Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Im sure as the season progresses those without goslings will soon have their hands full. At the moment we're quite a way from hatching our first goslings asthe exceptionally cold weather seems to have delayed the breeding season.

Just keeping our fingers crossed for the Buff Dewlaps

So good to see you again Pete! I read a few pages back about your little one. I pray he's doing much better now. It's always hard when one of our feathered babies is sickly, but when it's one of our children the stress and worry can be unbearable.

As for the buffs, I'm right there with ya! I'm hoping for some buff girls out of this season's hatch. My buff gander Gonzo is not quite a year old but he's getting the job done fabulously! I hadn't planned on him being fertile yet but was VERY pleasantly surprised when he proved me wrong! Here's to a great season full of happy fat dewlap babies!

Good to see you too and thanks for your good wishes. James is doing ok but he is disabled so its trying to optimise his potential and deal with problems as they arise. Add to that and my 7 year old daughter keeps me busy but she's also a great help. Its about balancing priorities.

Good news that your gander is fertile and lets hope you get quite a few buffs from him.

This year we're running our best split from our Dewlux line to a good buff so hoping for some good quality youngsters there. A few buff males would be very welcome

I too have a disabled son and know the extra challenges that can sometimes arise with a child that has health problems. I also have two other children so I know exactly what you mean by "keeps me busy"! My youngest is 14 now though and the two boys are 20 and 21...so I'm WAAAAY ahead of you! Darnit Pete...you just made me feel like an old woman! LOL

I LOOOOVVEE your Dewlux line! You know I always have! Sending buff boy vibes your way

Trust me there are days whenI do feel my age. I cant believe Im 58 but with Leah at 7 and James at 2 I did start late with a family. Its beena complex road with James as he has large lymphatic tumours andjust diagnosed as Autistic.

Iknow you've always liked our Dewlux line and we've got a very promising Split son paired to a very good buff. I think they may produce some very nice buffs. So far I've 3 fertile from them with another 4 eggs that are 4 days incubation. As usual its fingers crossed.

I set the last 2 eggs last night. No more room. This egg was the biggest one. Looks like this will be a big baby.

Total of 9 eggs this time. I hope that more eggs are fertile. All babies that are hatched have homes that they will be going to.

Calculations say that this egg is 252.311 grams.

Too funny. I know what you mean. I'm a Krazy Kuntrygirl - I know. Well, I look at it this way.........I don't have any kids, so no diapers or milk or clothes or extra food to buy, so that keeps a few dollars in my pocket. I don't like to shop and waste money on clothes, jewelry, makeup or perfume, so that that keeps a few dollars in my pocket. I use coupons and only buy things on sale, so that keeps a few dollars in my pocket. I recycle EVERYTHING that I can, to include building materials, so that keeps a few dollars in my pocket. I get A LOT of free stuff on craigslist and from family, friends and co-workers, so that keeps a few dollars in my pocket. I'm not sick and never have to go to the doctor, so I don't have to waste money on doctor's visits or medications, so that keeps a few dollars in my pocket. So all of those dollars that I keep in pocket, allow me to feed all of my animals. :)

Thanks for bringing up my sig. I have to update that. I have hatched more babies. :)

Lol! "so that keeps a few dollars in my pocket"! LOVE IT! We're the same when it comes to clothes, jewelry, and perfume...I'd take the critters ANY DAY!

Kuntrygirl...I just went and looked at all your pics! I absolutely adore the little chocolate colored lamb and the turkeys and duck all sitting on top of each other to set eggs is hysterical! Looks like you live in paradise to me!
