Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

I have a gosling!!! And one that is zipping! And another has pipped! Pipped wrong end BUT i had a chick do that a couple days ago and he hatched just fine, ill just keep an eye on him today in case he may need help.
Im so excited Bill and Mildred are parents for the first time at a year old. Ugh babies having babies lol they have good fertility for young geese. 5 out 6 developed past 3 weeks 4 went into lockdown. Their other 3 due next week is still wiggling, if they make it to lockdown that will be 3 of 3. Anyway ill get pics when they fluff.

J, I have a super broody girl like your's. Ginger I have took all her eggs away from her and took the nesting material out. Well what does she do go over and steel Hanna's eggs from her and is sitting her nest now with eggs in it. Darn goose! So I make sure to put food right in the nest with her to eat so she does not get run down. She comes off the nest and out for a walk every now and then. She has even bathed. So I am keeping an eye on her.

On the eggs in the incubator looks like you could start putting eggs on top of each other to get more in....

I haven't had any experience with broody geese but i have with chickens and ducks and I am thinking yes to giving her eggs about to hatch since she sat for 21 days she would just about be ready for hatch and this would get her off the nest and taking care of her new goslings. of course others may have differing opions

I am with Miss Lydia on giving her eggs. I have done that with chickens with good results. Hopefully that would end her broody phase. I am not experienced with geese though. Hopefully someone with a lot more experience will chime in.

I put a bowl of water in her box along with food and she is eating/drinking. I guess I can put the 3 african eggs that are getting ready to hatch in her nest this afternoon. Two of them will be white, so I will be very bummed if they do not hatch ok under her!!

Setting her eggs would prove she was or wasnt a mule for sure. Im crossing my fingers hoping she isnt and that you get goslings.
I know what you mean by loving each as they hatch. Thats how i felt with my first hatch, which was last year. I had 9 hatch but it was on a 80/20 split with a friend. It was hard letting those 7 go, but i got my pair of production toulouse, Tucker and Tori. I wouldnt trade them for anything.
This second hatch and 3rd(due next week) is from my brown chinese pair Bill and Mildred (named after my grandparents lol) im a
nervous wreck lol and i only set 9 eggs. I hate to see what im likr when i set this batch of 20 i have waiting on an incubator lol they are from my browns, and from the new whites and tufted romans i bought last week. Some will be pure and some crosses. I saw my white chinese gander breeding a tufted and my brown gander had one also. Maybe ill get a knot on the bill with a tuft on the head lol

White africans=crackers lmbo! Thats a great play on names. Im still trying to come up with names for the 6 new ones. Tucker and Tori was just something that came to mind when they hatched. When they were little i would play "tuck tuck goose" with tucker using my hand. When i said the goose part id touch Tuckers head and pull my hand away and he would chase it. LoL probably a bad idea since he turned out to be a gander for sure. So far it didnt make him mean. I will probably want to keep all these but i cant. I dont think i could handle having a possible 30+ head of geese although id sure give it a try.

I like Bill & Mildred ! Makes me think Of names of some of my family
Betty & Ernie ~ Kenny & Harriet ~ Pode (ya I know right?) ~ Dean & Sally ~ Kit & Sandy ~ Junior & Ethyl
Gotta love those simple classic names ~ kinda refreshing from all the craze of weird/creative friggin hard to spell names of kids nowadays !

What are some other Classic name pairings ? Anyone?
Make that TWO goslings!!! One hatched as i was typing. Woo hoo
