Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Beautiful pics as usual, RG!!! I didn't know you had an American Buff. Auction eggs?
I got them from a guy who raises Americans here in WA~ Wish I would have gotten more than 1 to hatch ~ bought 3 eggs

Gosh that looks amazingly like how the crows treat our coopers hawks. Still hard to believe that dumb magpie killed a gosling!!! The hawk -- yea, happens all the time.

Thanks, Paulla.

It's hard to not be disappointed, but at least he is a super healthy and energetic cutie pie. Fingers crossed my African egg that has internally pipped will hatch out soon so he will have a buddy. I also have another dewlap looking to internally pip today. Pretty sure it will be another boy. But I have an egg looking to hatch Sunday/Monday that could be a girl.

Good luck with that next Buff Dewlap baby - Im sure there's got to be at least 1 more to go

Is this thread to remain in the Hatch Along Section? Think it was much better when in the appropriate Goose Section - maybe we should start up another thread back there and call it something else????

Hey Pete, good to see you. You'd think I was jinxed hatching 10 boys and only 1 girl so far.

I have two dewlap eggs looking to hatch this weekend and 6+ more at various stages of development that will keep me hatching into July. If I am super lucky, there's another girl in the bator. But right now, my main goal is to hatch a buddy for my 2 day old boy. I hear my African egg peeping away and hope to see an external pip this morning.

I'm disappointed that the moderators will not move this thread back to the goose forum. It is not a bad idea to start a new thread. We can call it "Thread formerly known as let's have a gosling hatchalong" or "Gosling hatchalong peeps, let's share in how we raise our goslings". What do you think?

ETA: My African egg just externally pipped in the sweet spot and should hatch out just fine by tomorrow morning.

edited to add that I have 5 goose eggs in the bator, the last set was all infertile so my crew is done. I'm hatching into the first week of July.

It does seem a great shame it cannot be moved back as under this section less members will see and contribute to it.

I think avoid 'Hatch-Along' in the title or it'll end up here again.

I'm going to start a thread as

GOOSE BREEDING THREAD - for breeding, incubating, hatching and rearing.

See you back on this new thread in the Goose Section friends

Pete
