Let's plan a Quail egg hatch... set 'em Sept. 1, hatch 'em Sept 17-19+

I would have to set mine on Sept. 3 or 4 since they've been hatching 3-4 days early lately.

Don't tell JJ, but that's a 3-week-old Serama snuggling with a 5-week-old Button quail

ETA: Actually, that's probably a dozen or so serama snuggling with 7 or 8 buttons, but who's counting?

Mine are usually not early hatchers, but I've been getting lazy and only collecting eggs every 2-3 days..they aren't selling anyway.

I guess they are starting to 'cook' before I get them out of the pen

I know I used to get early-hatching whites way back when, but most of them hatch (or did hatch) at 17-18 days.

I think I'd like to get some new colors for this one, currently i've got browns and goldens (the other colors were smaller weight-wise so they didn't make the breeding up cut). Maybe start acolored pen for pretty and see if i can breed pretty up to size.

Surprised me to find them tursday night, when i was expectiing sunday afternoon. Since i'll be inporting new stock in i'll go with the usual 18 day timeline (mr saddi brought me a new brinsea last month, after a heated discussion. Most women get jewerly i get incubators.
