Let's plan a Quail egg hatch... set 'em Sept. 1, hatch 'em Sept 17-19+

I need to have as many 'look like adult' coturnix (also known as I can tell what sex they are coturnix) for the auction on October 29, I think a Sept. 17-19 hatch would work out just right

Then I need to hope and

that the eggs start selling because I'm sure not gonna brood any stinkers in the house THIS winter!

Mine depends on the girls....right now I think I have 9

But I've got several 'growing up' so my hen count should be back to par before the crazy weather kicks back in and kills all of my 'old' birds.

Is this an official press release? I didn't think we were going public with this yet...however, I trust your judgement, I am sure you know how many of those Chicken people will be buying up stock now... actually, great timing on a Sunday, before the market opens tomorrow, with all the news of a possible compromise...

Hey don't peck on us chicken people. I'd like some super quail, so I could doble my quail area.

Sorry, the news it out now!

Don't tell JJ, but that's a 3-week-old Serama snuggling with a 5-week-old Button quail

ETA: Actually, that's probably a dozen or so serama snuggling with 7 or 8 buttons, but who's counting?

The ones I just hatched, (decinded from the ones I bought from you 2 years ago) were 3 days early, they tend to be day 16 hatchers.

Mine are usually not early hatchers, but I've been getting lazy and only collecting eggs every 2-3 days..they aren't selling anyway.

I guess they are starting to 'cook' before I get them out of the pen

I know I used to get early-hatching whites way back when, but most of them hatch (or did hatch) at 17-18 days.

I think I'd like to get some new colors for this one, currently i've got browns and goldens (the other colors were smaller weight-wise so they didn't make the breeding up cut). Maybe start acolored pen for pretty and see if i can breed pretty up to size.
