Let's plan a Quail egg hatch... set 'em Sept. 1, hatch 'em Sept 17-19+

Most of the colors are not all that big.

Big or small, it doesn't matter here. Personally, I'd rather have the 'small' ones, they don't eat as much. The Tibetans sell the best out of all the colors I have and they are probably the smallest. I'd get $2 at most for a jumbo brown, the same as I'd get for a 'pharaoh' brown, so why spend the extra $$ on feed? If I were going to eat them I'd want the jumbos, but I don't plan on ever doing that

See I want the eggs for bentos (I think you remember my oldest is allergic to almost everything? he can handle quail eggs but not chicken ones), and we process the extra males (sidenote quail broth is like chicken broth amped up). Cortunix crows were one of the last sounds evan could make out before he lost his hearing, so they're extra dear to me. Now that he's a teen (and as tall as me, it takes alot of eggs to make him breakfast)

I think quail eggs are the ones I'm most allergic to. If I even get any part of the white or yolk on my skin, it makes my skin go numb

I've come to the realization i'm a quail person who has a few chickens. And even the chickens are banties.

this is to exciting, i might set 5 or so just to join in, i'll have to see how its looking towards the end of the month with brooder space

I know I used to get early-hatching whites way back when, but most of them hatch (or did hatch) at 17-18 days.

Surprised me to find them tursday night, when i was expectiing sunday afternoon. Since i'll be inporting new stock in i'll go with the usual 18 day timeline (mr saddi brought me a new brinsea last month, after a heated discussion. Most women get jewerly i get incubators.
