Ive always had a lot of faith in the moon and its influence.. knew enough people who would go "loony" at the full moon.. and well.. that was proof enough to me
my family always set eggs by the moon.. so it's a habit I got into at an early age

There was another thread where we all set according to the moon and I lost track. Darn it!

Rexbandit how old is your Sportsman and what kind of turner arm does it have? I have issues with this old one of mine and all steams from the turner arm.

OK I think I'm up to 30 or more eggs. Don't thik I'll hit 60 like I was hoping and none of the younger groups have started laying. I'll be happy with what I can get to hatch right now though.

I think I need to pick up an almanac and start setting to max hatches. I was actually going to breed my rabbits that way too.

So I know I'm a bit early but I set some button eggs yesterday. Since they only take 15-16 days they should be hatching about the 10th. Basically, I'm posting here so I don't forget when I set them...the eggs are too small to write on, no way would I be able to read what I wrote!

But no worries, I'm collecting a full week's coturnix eggs to hatch and I'll need to set another round of button eggs, so all's good

I had heard about Moon Hatching, darn it... shoulda thought of that. I have counted myself lucky when it rains during hatch day too.

I am up to 17 quailified eggs to set so far, cooler idea of Doc _Randalls working like a champ too.

I will try and put together a list of everyone involved and we can try to tally how many we are setting...let me get some coffee going.

Wolf im not sure how old my sportsman is I bought it used last spring. Had to put new wafers in it but other then that its worked great for me. Before I got it I hatched everything in a old leahy redwood incubator. I have recently found another leahy and am now planing on restoring them so if anyone has ever done this before or has any information about them I would love to hear about it.
