Let's Play: Sex my Flock! (Img heavy)

Just because it's not recognized doesn't mean it's not a silkie. I, for one, don't really care about APA or anything of the like.

There are plenty of breeds that aren't even recognized - or colors within established breeds that breed true and are to standard but have yet to be recognized.

I met his parents; both were silkies. He comes from a highly recommended breeder, his siblings are all silkies, and many of her chicks are NOT naked neck.

He is a silkie. I'm going to listen to my breeder/the silkie people around me on this one. Recognition by an organization does not make something true; something being true makes it true. Even if it was crossed in generations upon generations ago... it doesn't matter now.

Hello everyone! I went out and took some pics of my flock today - I'm wondering if anyone sees any suspected cockerels? The Buff O and the SLW I'm keeping my eye on but so far their saddle feathers seem round.

Looks like a fine bunch of young ladies, to me. How did you manage that? You're a lucky duck!
As far as the "Silkie" It's not a true Silkie, but a Silkie/Naked Neck cross. With that in mind, your Showgirl looks like a Showboy. If the S/NN cross follows Silkie rules, then the streamers in the crest are the giveaway. A partridge Showgirl? Sounds pretty cool to me. I'd like to see him "All growed up!"

I LOVE Showgirls, but I'd get disowned if I brought one home. Of course, that means, I WILL have a Showgirl ... one of these days. The gauntlet has been thrown down and the challenge has been accepted! I just need to find a little more room in the coop ...
