Lets play "Where is the storm"

We had rain today here in NE Ohio. Another day off for the kids.I cleared the ice blocks off the chicken shed and tried to break the ice up on the driveway. I was breaking the driveway and gave up,so I am hoping it snows enough for me to drive over it. I guess I will buy some salt to melt it all.

I see someone in the distance is having a house fire of some sort.I just see all the smoke over the neighboring homes.3 fire trucks so far. Poor people.I hope they are ok.

Dh is in NY now and I hope he is heading south.Well home would be better, but south is better than Chicago!

Gosh I can't wait till spring. I see harbor freight has some greenhouses on sale.Wish I could get one!

We got maybe a dusting of snow but we got more ice last nite

Just came from blowing snow out of drive way. parts of it were 4" deep, parts were over 2' deep. Took about 50% more time than normal to clean the driveway. Kind of nice to be ouitside doing something. Will get to touch it up again tonite or tomorrow AM when wind stops blowing.

I am an hour from you, Ewesheep and we got 14 inches. Took a long time to shovel to the geese and rabbits. I have tunnels the the geese can just see over. I will be sore tomorrow from all the shoveling.

An inch or so of snow and a half an inch coating of ice on everything here in mid NJ. Lost power during the night, but it just came on:weee. Could have been lots worse here.

Notice where the door handle is.

Chicken hoop house a couple hours into the blizzard. I had tried to winterize it with tarps and plywood.

This is what the inside of the coop ended up looking like. (I put the chickens in dog crates in the garage)

Our driveway partial dug out.

In typical windswept flatland style, parts of the yard have no snow, other parts have big 8 foot drifts.

We lost power yesterday at 5pm because the +50 mph wind gusts took the roof off a building in town and knocked down some lines. I also had a window in the basement blow in, had 3" of snow in half the basement before I could fix it. My boyfriend couldn't make it home from work because the roads were impassable (he has a 4wd truck). He spent two hours on the road trying to get home (gave up) and then trying to get back to town but he only covered 20 miles total.

Power is back on now. Yay!

wow...that's impressive. It was crazy with the white outs...my camera didn't capture the white out parts like your did. Neat shot with the boat.

My house around noon today, before we dug out.

The snow stopped around 10 a.m., the wind stopped around noon.
Our snowblower stopped around 1:30, auger quit...
We quit around 4:00, took showers and then went to the store.... to start shoveling again because my stupid neighbor decided to snow blow his defunct car out
by snow blowing into and onto our carport.

Its now 9:30 ... the only thing keeping me awake is the funny stuff here and caffine!

Yesterday here in Texas we got a teeny tiny bit of snow...of course it didn't stick to the ground and simply melted on impact.

But figuring our summers get to 110' , this 15 degree weather is EXTREMELY cold to us folks who have to get up and go to school every morning.

Some of the snow pictures are crazy unbelievable to me...we never get ACTUAL snow
