People never cease to amaze me in their creativity! I love it! We are always hoarding stuff and salvaging things for future use. I'd rather have an "ugly" coop that we put thought and hard work into any day over one of those fancy schmancy ones that cost an arm and a leg. I don't really consider ours ugly because it is something that we built and I love it but I guess it would be ugly by some standards. I'll have to snap some pictures of it when I get a chance.

This was my first phase and my wife said it was the ugliest coop she had ever seen. But the chickens just love it as I do

your picture isn't posting

Well I guess I need to post mine! I don't think it's too too ugly but it surely isn't pretty!!

The entire roof was made from recycled materials!

Does look better now. The brooder has been moved and I finally took the tarp down since I put it up to try and keep the sun off the waterer and it didn't work!!

Here's one of the nursery/juvenile coops/run that I just finshed!

And here's one of the other ones!

It doesn't matter if the coop is ugly as long as the chickens are safe in it and the nieghbors can't see it or smell it. I haven't seen any ugly coops just inventive ones. I wish I had the talent and creativity to do that. Mines made out of a chest of drawers minus the drawers. No building required. Just fence and stapling.

So funny! I just started a blog about the real poop on raising city chickens (especially for our northern friends) and just posted about this!

I just started but feel strongly that the pros and cons of chicken raising should be clear for people before they dive in. We love our small flock of 5 but they drive us crazy from time to time. Stop by and say hi.
