They will be 12wks tomorrow. not sure about the weight. We are going to butcher our first one today, and its out first butcher, i am nervous!!​

I was wondering because they look HUGE!

I just processed two of mine this morning (8 weeks old) one roo and one pullet that was much bigger than the rest of the group but nothing compared to yours

Both dressed out very nice,.. looks like some thing off the shelf at the local supermarket

One of ours,at 12 weeks old, he weighed in at 14 lbs. We ate him last Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and then put the rest in the freezer. He was delicious and now DH wants to get more meaties. We had four.

I think our dressed out around 13lbs. it fed my 8 people, with some left over, it was good!!! that was my first go around with processing and then eating it, and it really didn't bother me as much as i thought it would. We are doing another one for dinner tonight. My DH who can butcher deer, cow, squirrel, rabbit, well you name it. but the chickens made is face go white as a ghost, i got a good laugh.

These guys are at freezer camp now, but they were six weeks old when the picture was taken. This is the first batch I've done in a tractor, and they were larger and healthier than other batches done in the barn. I only lost one out of 34. My MIL got twenty from the same batch of chicks. She did hers inside, and they were smaller and she lost 4 out of the 20. I think you get better results from housing in a tractor or ones that are outdoors.

I agree- raising in a tractor works GREAT.

I couldn't beleive it when these 14 1/2 week old Cornish X jump up on the hay we were putting away...

I can't wait to show off my meaties! They should be arriving within two weeks. I'm guessing they'll be here by fathers day weekend... hope. I'm working on their tractor still. They will go up a ramp into the coop part at night, right? (aren't too lazy?) We have MAJOR raccoon problems here. They have to be locked up tight at night.
