A few things stood out in that ad.
I'm assuming that all 3 goats are siblings based on their birthdate. They were born to a first freshener, so the buck should NEVER be kept as a herd sire out of a ff. she also said that the doelings have "good udders" there is no way to know how good a doelings udder is at 6 days old (younger based on posting date). I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I would not buy a goat from a person giving this type of poor information in a posting.
The good genetics are a strong point, but without evidence of the "good genetics" through milk stars, dairy herd improvement, or championships from shows, I would be cautious.
I'm fairly new to owning goats, and I got burned on my first goat purchase, and educated myself as to what to look for and how to buy goats...

I'll take all the help I can get. We have Nigerian Dwarfs. The miniature nubians are a "wish list" project. I appreciate your input. I don't know enough about these to pick up on those red flags.

I have ND goats as well. I've been thinking about adding a mini Nubian as well, but after thinking more about it I want to just stick with ND. The Nubians are attractive because of the volume of milk they produce. But as far as quality, and value I will stick with the ND. The taste of the milk cannot be beat by any other breed (in my opinion) and having rather expensive registered NDs I would "taint" my genetics by breeding in a part Nubian.
In my breeding I'm focusing on 3 aspects
1. Milk production
2. Linear appraisal
3. Self sufficiency

If I can work on my breeding, and get a goat that can do well in the show ring, fill a milk pail, and primarily graze vs me buying feed, that goat will be worth her weight in gold!!!
I know I would personally pay a few grand for a goat that met my 3 criteria.
Are you expecting any goat babies, robo?

These are my ND goat wethers Smokey and Buford. They will be turning 1 in Feb. I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about showing wethers in 4-H. Would I just show them in showmanship or is there a different class for them...? Any help about showing goats in general would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

All the show information I've seen states that goats in showmanship classes must be entered in the appropriate age category class as well, so I don't think you could show your wethers. That's what I've seen for open dairy shows, anyway. I have a very sweet Alpine wether and a doeling. These pictures are from back in the fall.

I need some help.

I have a Saanen doe who just had a kid yesterday. But about 2 weeks or so ago, somehow she tore the her teat, so that the end dangled. I had no idea this had even happened, until she started to get milk around 5 days ago.

The baby is very healthy, and loud, and the mama was doing fine until today. She barely moves, is very lethargic, and the injured side of her udder is swollen and purple. There is no way for her to drop milk from that side, as the injured teat healed up completely.
I don't know what to do, and I have absolutely no ability to get her to a vet, since there are no vets around here that take goats.
