Let's Talk About Manners...

I HATE when people are in a fast food restaurant, and make the order taker wait while they finish up their cell phone conversation. Can you get anymore rude? How about the ones in drive through, who say "can you give me a second?" and you can clearly hear them talking on their cell phones, while three other cars wait in line behind them?

Another thing I hate from work... had this one lady who opened front counter several days a week. The days she didnt work, others did the same job. So why, everytime she worked, did I have to sit there and listen to her say..."I wiped all the tables, made salads, changed the sanitizer water, etc., etc., etc." I know what your job entails, I've done it a hundred times myself. Do you want me to give you a medal because you did your job? It's not that hard. You dont need to tell me everyday that you did what you were supposed to do. Really drove me nuts!

My last pet peeve...the garbage. I grew up in a family where the men took the garbage out everyday. So why is it neither my husband or his loser 27 year old son living at home with daddy, can't take out the freaking garbage? I tried not doing it, wating for them to, and they just pile it on top of the overflowing can until it all falls out on the floor. Argh!

How about this one: You go out to see the latest movie you've been looking forward to, and some juvenile moron has a laser pointer and thinks its cute to shine it on the screen and point out the actor's anatomy, etc.

I'm a geek, and I LOVE laser pointers - they are so handy (I'd like to make a chicken detector with one).... but honestly, it's depressing how there are always idiots who will abuse such things.

I'd just like to say that over here in England, it is customary for the host (at dinner) to prepare and serve the meal, not for the guest to fix it themselves, its also polite for the guest to finish the meal, if not, to atleast try everything.
I'm tired of friends who don't follow this and complain all that time "I dont like that, or my mum cooks it differently i only like it that way"

Although we don't serve our guest, we do try everything even if you don't like it. If you enjoyed the meal, you always compliment the cook. I make my son's kiss my wife and tell her thank you after a meal.

I hate people who leave the table before the meal is over.

That garbage thing would drive me nuts too. I'd start with a little reminder like this "I'll have supper ready as soon as you get back from taking the garbage out." See? You didn't complain, or accuse or order-it's a simple view at the way an exchange of duties should look-I'm cooking your dinner so you can.... If that didn't work I'd go on to "I can't fix dinner because no one took the garbage out."

ok i dont want to hijack this thread but someone mentioned garbage!!!!!

why is it the "city folk" think it is perfectly fine to take their garbage and dump it on the side of the road in the rural areas?...

I have actually sat there with gloves on and went through the garbage looking for evidence like an envelope or a name and then I have called the police when I find identifying info....

some guy was actually stupid enough to throw his licence renewal reminder in the garbage and then throw that bag on the side of the road so now I had is licence number too...the police officer just laughed at that one

I pick up trash on my county road twice a year. However, it isn't city folk but the home grown types. I once found a sack with snack wrappers and billing slips from the local farmers coop, which was returned to them politely asking the coop to provide trash sacks for their farm delivery trucks!

Gotta be careful picking up that trash. I was talking to a police officer who managed groups of people who clean up ditches and he told me that these rural areas are perfect for people who want to operate meth labs. They then throw their chemical containers in the ditch since they might get caught if they set it out with the regular trash. Some of those chemical containers have been highly toxic.
