now it is time to show some cuckoo pullets .most of them are silver cuckoos Blue and black .only few are golden cuckoo black .
there is 3 type of cuckoos .
line one is the pure original line .I m now on the F2 and F3 all double barred cockerel and silver cuckoo pullets
the second one I m developing is from the Blue copper hens . they are big chooks with great body type and they lay dark egg 6 ,oval and shiny .
the third cuckoo arefrom the Birchen hens .

blue cuckoos all F1 they are silver but do carry the gold .so if mated to they black cuckoo F1 brother/ half brother they ll throw both silver and golden cuckoo Blue and black as F2 .
locking forward to it

I have 5 of those .same phenotype the only difference is they blue coloration .

the way I see it the blue does not go very well with a cuckoo gene ( barring ) they don t have that true cuckoo look like the black one .

I ll breed the Blue birchen from them .I think they look better . stunning contrast .and I ll keep my cuckoo black silver and gold

PERSONAL OPINION .

You have some very nice birds. They have a really nice box shape. I think mine start off opposite. They are very lanky/leggy with huge legs and then grow into their bodies, but most are tall.

The barring on the hackle feathers is very defined. It's like they have a cuckoo body with a barred/non-cuckoo head on top. Mine seem to have the randomness of barring on the hackles, but a little clearer if that makes sense.

I think this is what I'm seeing on the coloration of mine.

Is this correct?

The Golden Cuckoo sire is S/s+, blue copper dam is s+/-

Offspring inherit either gold or silver. I'm guessing silver in a blue cuckoo just looks like blue with a darker neck. Like this pic of siblings:

I've got mine in a single large pen now, but am building a rooster only pen for the younger guys.

My blue GCM was watching me, so I snapped some shots. He's developed white tail feathers and some white fluff in places, but is still feathering into his adult plumage:

This guy I'm really excited about, the ones that show light gold as adults start of looking like plain silver cuckoos. The ones that show this color seem to turn reddish like in a brown-red. If so, he might be my main breeder for color. I've also got a pullet of similar color.

you are alright ,barring( cuckoo ) does not look much over a blue not as impressive like over the black
the hackle and saddle feathers are different ,well barred .
