Let's talk Golden Cuckoo Marans!

I had a buff orpington go broody. I hatched out a mix from my golden cuckoo marans rooster and a black copper marans hen. Have 5 cockerals and 3 pullets.

Looks like they are going to have good color and a nice start to creating a new line of golden cuckoos.

My wife loves the buff orp and wanted me to hatch out a baby "ginger" too. She is a really interesting color though. Mix of the golden cuckoo roo and the buff orp. She's brown from wing back, and a buff barred along the neck with feathered legs. She is way more fluffy/fat than the marans though.

She is really pretty!

I have gotten some very pretty birds from crossing my GCM rooster with my wheaten and blue wheaten Ameraucanas. The golden cuckoos make some neat crosses.

7 week old crosses of GCM and black copper hen. 5 cockerals, 2 pullets. 2 or 3 are starting to gold up on their necks.
