Letting eggs sit before incubating?

When I hatched eggs I was supposed to let them sit 24 hours but ended up really busy and waited 28 hours instead and got a pretty good hatch rate.

When I collect my eggs I just refrigerate them until I get how many I want than I let them set until they have dropped down to room temp. I hatched out two chicks from my first hatch that were refrigerate.

i am impatient i just put em right in the incubator and turn it on.
Was about 72 degrees today in South Texas. Put my 7 geese eggs directly into the incubator...smh . I did the same with my cinnamon queens and had about 90% hatch rate. I hope I get lucky and have baby geese in a month.

:welcome :frow @goosexnoob This thread is still pertinent even though it's an older thread. Depends on the eggs. If the eggs are shipped eggs I put them in the incubator ASAP but I don't turn the turner on for the first day, otherwise I save eggs from the coops I want to hatch from for a few days and then put them in the incubator with the turner on. I have a cabinet incubator which holds a lot of eggs but I do staggered hatches too as I have mentioned in previous posts in this thread.
