I have four chicks in my basement and they're growing fast. I want to let them outside to my big coop but it's cold and I'm worried they'll die. I live in Indiana and the temperature now is 19 degrees. My chicks were born on November 25th. When can I move them to my big coop?

I would wait a bit, or if you do move them bring a heat lamp. We had two chicks hatch in september, unfortunately one went MIA and the other is getting pretty beat by the cold. Also, it depends on their breed, some are more cold hardy than others.

I would wait, better be safe then sorry.

Our almost five month old pullet is getting pretty beat up by the cold and she is fully feathered.
