lettuce

Iceberg, the lettuce people most commonly eat, has no nutritional value, but is harmless to them. Other lettuce like romaine, etc., do contain various nutrients.

They especially like it when the lettuce has bolted from the heat so you pull the whole stalk and throw it in. The bitterness I taste is apparently not offensive to them.

They go crazy for lettuce or any leafy greens. Just make sure they have grit if they are not free range so they can digest it.

Mine won't touch it unless I chop it up into bite sized bits and put it in their treat bowl.

Such spoiled girls.

Any type lettuce or greens are quickly consumed around here...

They'll love it. Ours eat it from the garden when I chuck some in the run. Tonight they left some in there, which was unusual, but as I said in another post, since we switched to crumbles from pellets they eat more of their food and are not as hungry for the treats.
