Lewiston, MAINE TSC Farm swap- July 21st, 2012

Ugh, I think I am finally on the mend, first it was flu, then I put my back out. I am able to move fairly well finally today after 10 days....
I think I am back in the land of the living.

Everyone here is broody except the goose. I have three ducks and two hens, and a turkey brooding nests of duck, chicken, and goose eggs.
All the Black Spanish chicks I had got loose and I have not seen them for 24 hours now.
I still have not figured out what the ducklings I have are yet, I have one mixed chick, one gosling, and two golden comet chicks in my brooder. This is going to be the most mixed up messed up bunch of poultry....

LOL, so, what does that mean you are bringing? LOL

And I know what you mean about the whole broody issue! I have 2 broodie's who already hatched and 3 who are just started setting! So that means about 26% of my flock has been broody this year, and we aren't done! LOL

I will have a rooster chick that I got from PollyC (he will be like 4-5 months old by then, I will have to check the calendar), and multiple roosters from my flock (looking like a BO x BR, a Leghorn x BO, a mystery sexlink that I got from someone else, but was raised by my broody, and a few other roos, I am sure!) I am not going to add my stuff to the list yet, because I don't know for sure on any of it yet. Too early!

I currently hate my broody. She is a real... hag to the other chickens and isn't actually hatching anything!!! two chicks are dead under her so far. I took a few eggs this morning and put them in the bator thinking they didn't have any worse chances in there than with her.

What kind of geese? Turkeys?

Alright guys, this is only 2 weeks away! Let's get this thread JUMP STARTED!!

Wow, looking like this is going to be a MUCH smaller swap than the last one. Is it that people can't make it, or that they don't have anything to sell?

Hello there!
I am planning on being at the Lewiston chicken swap. I have. 6 or so silkies that i will be bringing. One roo, a few pullets and a hen. I have a polish hen that i may be bringing..not exactly sure.
I am looking for full size hens, hoping for established hens that are good layers.

Dont mind selling or buying but prefer to swap at a chicken swap...

Hope a lot of people will be there!!

Yay! Someone else is coming! I will add your things to the list, and just let me know if anything changes and I will switch the list.

I plan to be there but I was hoping to hear about geese and turkeys.

Also, does anyone have Langshans, even one hen, that I could get? Dorkings anyone?
What about Orloffs or Houdans or Ancona chickens?
On the look out for a copy of SOP, used is great, just recent.
Polish are welcomed at my home and lovingly referred to as Muppet birds.

If someone were interested I have some blue runners here to trade for above items. They might be campbell crosses but they are pretty and young. The seller I bought them from stated they were pure runner, but they are not SOP, and while at Chickenstock recently I saw others just like them (JUST like them) that were campbell crossed with runner so I figure I will be honest.

That list is posted at the bottom of the first post... Hope to see you there.

Oh, if there is anything not on the list that you need, or if there is something that you want to bring, let me know!

There are some people who contacted me through email... They want 4-6 laying hens and a non-aggressive rooster. They will be there on Saturday, and can't wait to meet new people!
