LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

 I don't think so, especially if they are getting ready to pip. Her mommy instincts will kick in, she won't know any difference, hopefully. :D
Eggs are definitely less risky, some broodies are wise to things and we don't need any incidents with sneaking chicks under Cruella! They don't recognize eggs as life until chicks hatch, shes a new broody, she should hatch them herself. It will make her a better broody.

This time next week you should be up to your knees in chicks!

Let's hope so! I'm so egg-cited to be overflowing with chicks :ya

I am super egg-cited for you too! :woot Make sure at lock down your vents are wide open, humidity is somewhere between 60 & 70 % oh and lay down something non skid under the eggs so chicks don't slip and get splay legs, the floor will be quite wet.

I can hardly wait!!!! :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy

The vents are already open, and the humidity as per the incubator instructions should be around 70%. The hatching tray I think is pretty good, can't get photos, but the video of the incubator showcases the hatching tray. I can't wait as well, I've already had dreams (well more like nightmares) about egg and chick stuff for two consecutive nights!

Oh no, not nightmares! :hugs My first hatch was pretty stressful, this was before BYC so I was winging it all by myself. I made some mistakes but 3 out of 6 eggs did hatch! I watched the first baby zip out, I was beside myself with joy and excitement, out popped a chick! I think I had a grin from ear to ear for the next 3 days! Oh and start listening closely, sometime around lock down, some of them will Peep at you in the eggs! :love I sing to my eggs. Talk to them, they can hear you! Makes a close bond between you and them!
