LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Right?! I did NOT expect it to be go time so soon. But since this egg is pipped, it can't sit there and complain, that's my job!

Your egg baby right now, no interest in coming out.... :gig

I use zip ties / tie wraps / cable ties (whatever you want to call them) to identify certain chicks and/or ducklings.

I do the same for my adult breeding birds ( I have a rather lengthy post up on my Tsouloufati thread if anyone's interested;)) but I don't know if I feel comfortable doing it with tiny chicks. They grow too fast, and I'm too much of a worrier, so I'll be constantly changing them. @aart has a great article on it though

By the way, speaking about articles, I've read your article on grieving birds TwoCrows, it was heartwarming and sad at the same time! I really loved it. I just haven't found anything really "constructive" that I could leave a review on. It'll just me me saying that I loved it. So in case I never write that review, just know I loved it :lau

Thank you! :hugs Many people don't believe birds mourn the loss of flock mates but they do!

I believe so too. It's partly why it makes me so sad to know that Kolovos won't be here for much longer. It also makes me sad to think about the bantam girls losing Napoleon. Cruella wasn't too close to him, though she definitely experienced some grief, but I know Ursula felt it deeper. She was really close with him
