Yes Australorp males are gorgeous boys! The Vet Tech at my Vets office keeps chickens, turkeys, ducks, all manner of critters. I have unloaded SO many birds on her, :oops: I think she shudders when she sees me coming. :lol: Her son is in 4-H and goes to the shows, he loves taking the pretty roosters.

Oh wonderful! Does your stock come from an australorp breeder? Are you an australorp club of america (if it exists) breeder? Do you show at all?

No, all my birds come hatcheries, my Barred Rocks and Buff Orps too unfortunately. One day I am going to get some Heritage bred birds, these hatchery birds have so many health issues. BUT...this said, some of my Australorp hens have lived to be 12+ years old!
