LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I have always wanted to keep Ayam Cemanis and Buckeyes. :love And I also love the idea of not only keeping rare breeds but preserving the breed as well.
Honestly, except for the preservation part, I'd seriously suggest Mystic Onyx instead of the cemani. They look almost exactly the same if they don't get the feathered leg or crested genes

Oh you are so cruel!! I could never eat my babies! 😱
Some are more difficult to turn into dinner than others. But I keep an eye on them, and if undesirable behaviour starts, that makes it easier.

Also, gotta remember that I'm already in the mind-frame that they are for food. Still, I do get attached to certain ones. Like a Dorking-mix cockerel I have right now. He's a bit of a jerk, but I like him so he's getting away with more.

I've got some banty cockerels that will probably end up having to be processed. No one wants mix-breed banties. :(

🤦‍♂️

It can be done gradually, you know. For something like this.

At this point, with the majority of the world being metric, the costs would be minimal. AND if they make anything they plan on selling to other countries, it already has to be metric!
We are supposed to use the metric system here in the UK but some parts have stuck while others not so much. I've yet to hear of anyone going into a pub and ordering a litre of beer. it's always pints. Weight has done reasonably well and a kilo means something to me. Speed probably will only make sense as miles per hour till I get in my coffin.

Oooh buggies, Dragon's gonna love them! 🐲🐛
Yeah. If only she wasn't as picky as I am. She'll eat living things, but so far would rather not eat if there's only veggies and pellets, which is supposed to be like 80% of her diet

She was hesitant about the hornworm, but eventually ate it. Now to try Dubia roaches and hopefully she still likes crickets
